What is Supabase?

When you create a table in Supabase you get a REST and real-time API automatically. Security is built into the database itself with Row Level Security rules: each user sees only the rows they are allowed to.

Because it is Postgres, data can be analysed with SQL and connected to any BI tool. Supabase is also planned for this site's CMS and forms.

Questions about Supabase

Is Supabase free?

There is a free plan for small projects. A paid plan is recommended for production apps.

Supabase or Xano?

Supabase for a team comfortable with SQL and code. Xano for a no-code team that wants visual backend logic.

Is the data secure?

Yes, when RLS rules are written correctly. The service key must never be used in the front end.
